Dr Yukio Akune

About Me:

Dr Yukio is a General Practitioner who provides holistic, comprehensive healthcare to patients of all ages. Yukio obtained his medical degree at the University of Western Australia in 2013. Prior to general practice, he worked across numerous hospitals, both north and south of the river in WA, in medical, surgical and emergency medicine.

Yukio completed specialist general practice training with the Royal College of General Practitioners, allowing him to enjoy practicing and helping patients with a broad range of conditions.

Yukio works closely with patients to explain their condition and develop individualised management plans in collaboration with them.

Yukio has a special interest in: - Chronic disease management - especially diabetes, chronic kidney disease, high blood pressure - Men's health - Skin cancer, including skin checks and lesion removal - Sexual health, LGBT health and PrEP prescribing - Preventative medicine, including vaccinations, kidney health checks - Paediatric care and childhood vaccinations - Travel medicine

Yukio is competent in non-directive pregnancy counselling and can provide management options for unplanned pregnancies.
