Bookings And Fees

Please note ALL Dr's at Medone Medical are INDEPENDENT Contractors. 

New Patients MUST bring photo ID to appointment on the day.

We are a PRIVATE practice and fees are payable at the time of consultation. Please refer to our reception for practice fees. 

We automatically Bulk Bill Concession/Health care card holders and children under 16 years.

Saturdays will be FULLY privately billed across all patients, inclusive of Pension and Health Care Card holders and children.

There may be additional costs if any procedures are performed, e.g. Cryotherapy, ECG or Minor surgery and Medical consumables, such as bandages and dressings may incur an additional cost.

Pathology services may incur extra costs depending on the tests performed, you can contact Clinical Labs accounts team on 1300 369 762 (Medone Medical cannot take payment for these as we are seperate entities.)

Private patients’ Medicare rebates can be refunded directly to a saving or cheque account on the day of consultation. To recieve your Medicare Rebate you must ensure that your details are up to date with Medicare, if they dont have your correct banking details they will send a cheque to the address held with Medicare. If these are not up to date, Medicare has no way of returning your money!!! 

If you Medicare Rebate has not been refunded into your nominated bank account in 24 hours, you can call us to ensure the payment has been sent to Medicare. We unforutnately cannot send a bill to Medicare twice. once its sent its sent. If the rebate has been missed and you have confirmed with us at Medone that the payment was sent to Medicare, you will then need to contact Medicare to refund your money manually.

Accounts can be paid with a credit card but the refund must be paid into a saving or cheque account.

Appointment

All consultations are by appointment. New Patients MUST bring photo ID to appointment on the day. Our standard appointment time is 10-15 minutes. We encourage you to request your appointment with your preferred GP for continuity of care. Medone Medical is not an urgent clinic, we will try our best to accomodate urgent walk ins on case by case basis but please be patient as we will try to prioritise booked appointments. 

Do you need to book a long appointment?

If you think you require longer please ask for a long appointment. Commonly this could be for a full medical, counselling for emotional problems, review of complex medical problems, or a second opinion. This allows the doctor sufficient time to spend with you to give your problem the attention it deserves.

Urgent Appointments

All urgent medical problems will be dealt with promptly, but not necessarily with the doctor of preference. The first available doctor will be assigned the urgent case. When we run late, we’re sorry! The doctors don’t like running late either, but emergencies have to be fitted in and sometimes patients take longer than the time allowed. This is difficult to predict. You’re welcome to telephone before coming and the reception staff will advise if the doctor is on time.

Cancellations

Please notify us if you are unable to attend an appointment, well in advance. When people fail to turn up for their appointment, it usually means that someone else will have to wait an extra day to see the doctor. All we ask is the courtesy of a phone call to cancel your appointment, giving at least 2 hours notice. A DNA fee of $50 will be charged if patients do not notify the practice in this time period. This fee must be paid prior to making another appointment.

Appointments during COVID-19

Patients may have a Covid-19 Telehealth appointment with our doctor's, to book one of these phone appointments you will be asked to proove the positive covid result prior to appointment.
